Chicago PrEPmate Interviews 2016

Prepmate is an NIMH-supported research project that aims to develop new technology-based tools to support PrEP adherence among HIV-uninfected, at risk men who have sex with men. Given the substantial HIV burden among younger men of color (18-35) who are also avid users of mobile phones, we designed a multi-component technology-based intervention that encourages pill-taking behavior by working to inform, motivate and build skills using bi-directional text messaging, pill-taking reminders, video testimonials, and online social networking.
